The fire of Evangelism

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)

Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus, Your Word declares that I can come to You, the source of wisdom, for wisdom. I do that right now Father, and I ask that You not only give me wisdom of men, but the wisdom of God. I pray that You would impart into me divine wisdom, that I may be able to rightly divide the Word of truth Jesus instruct and teach us in the way you want us to go. Direct our steps, let our ear hear Your voice.
I pray for every person reading this page to receive the gift of discernment; help them to know the difference between Godly and ungodly intentions, spirits, prophecies, actions and gifts. By the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to know who has been sent by You, and who has not.
Anoint my tongue, and mind that I your servant speak Your truth with wisdom, and grace but in simplicity so that all may understand and edified by them. Thank You Father for Your Word and for Your instruction. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray and declare these things as done, Amen.

Allowing Scripture to speak to the Sovereignty of God and what He desires on this Kingdom land it changes our understanding of evangelism and how it is to be done. All that God created was designed with a purpose. That purpose is to display his glory (Ps.19) to those whom he seeks to save. During the three years of Jesus life he was the teaching the disciples the meaning of the Great Commission and what it means for us to make it a way of life.
If we get to busy with the business of planning big programs to attract a crowd, we miss the mark. Why because we forget the church is not a human operation. It is a spiritual one. Jesus was not on a mission to draw a crowd, nor should it be ours.
As you develop your ministry of evangelism be sure it aligns with the nine steps of Jesus ministry:
1. Incarnation – Jesus came into our world to reveal God’s love.
2. Selection – People were Jesus method.
3. Association – Jesus stayed with them.
4. Consecration – Jesus required obedience.
5. Demonstration – Jesus showed (taught) them how to live.
6. Delegation – Jesus assigned them work.
7. Supervision – Jesus continued to check on them.
8. Reproduction – Jesus expected them to reproduce.
9. Impartation – Jesus gave Himself away through the Holy Spirit.

Evaluate your Ministry
When you look at your ministry how does it resemble that of Jesus ministry?

  1. These are the same tools used by Robert Coleman in his book on evangelism. They are great tools taken from the ministry of Jesus. Jesus is our model for all we do in the kingdom. We must be willing to forsake our own strategies of marketing, and educational teachings and get back to the simplicity of following Jesus. We must forsake all, give ourselves to God, and follow Jesus.

    1. You are correct they are the tools from Robert Coleman. I have used them before. Some will work for us but people must be trained to use them. Evangelism requires dedication. Most people
get bored with doing the same thing over but it is consistency and removing one-self out from the bureaucratic policies that creates deaf ears. When they have that ability only then will they have the ability to walk in the simplicity of following Jesus.
